Yeah! We gotta! You need to see all of it! [They have a new plan. The best plan.]
The movies are pretty faithful beyond a few character design tweaks, and that one big plot twist, but the comics go completely off the rails. Like, oh my goddd, Hecate gets a whole arc! I think there is subtext with her and Azura, like romantic subtext. [Now Luz is rambling about the Azura lore. There is no going back.]
[Luz only briefly unloops her arm from Amity's to move in front of her. It is a dramatic response, but Luz is well, Luz. Excited to share a passion with her girlfriend. This sure stalls their attempt to actually get to the picnic date, but Luz is lost in the sauce.
She reaches out to take Amity's hands in her own, clasping them firmly but gently. Clearly she's putting on an affect to sound like Azura, her expression serious, but passionate. She recites a speech she remembers fairly well off the top of her head from the movie.]
Hecate, between you and I, I know we can accomplish anything we set our minds to! The odds are daunting, and we travel a hard road, but we're together. We can find our friends and turn the tides-
[She squeezes Amity's hands in her own, embodying the energy she remembers Azura having in that scene.]
[Amity's cheeks are bright pink as Luz recites the scene, her eyes wide, deeply fascinated and enraptured by every word. After Luz dances back, it takes her a moment to wind down from that experience. She- she wanted to find their friends! Turn the tides! Work with Azura!
...Oh, right. This is real life again.]
Aw-aww, but I liked it! I bet it was perfect, word for word. [She expects nothing less from the #1 Azura fan ever.]
Oh well- [New discovery unlocked. Luz is now becoming a little flustered by Amity's reaction, starting to turn pink.] We could... pretend to be Azura and Hecate whenever you want? I mean, if you think its cool anyway.
I'm happy to go off script with you, you have super cool ideas.
[Amity's eyes widen, growing brighter. Seems that was a good suggestion.]
Oh... I haven't done that since I was very little. [Her "cool friends" weren't too interested in roleplay make-believe. Or acting. (Besides acting cool.) And it's not like she could have much fun at home, considering.] I bet we could write a whole movie on our own.
[Amity seeming to actually be interested definitely does a fair job of emboldening Luz further. A large part of Luz always wants to impress Amity, but... the two of them are on more even ground in a lot of ways. They've had more time to get to know each other. Relax around each other.
Luz knows she can be sillier with Amity and not need to worry about coolness.]
That just means we have to make up for that lost time in pretending. [Luz grins a little, still pink cheeked, but pleased.] We have a lot of cool adventures to make up!
[They're super uncool nerds together, and that suits them both just fine. Embrace it! Enjoy it! Amity's doing her best. (She still fully believes she's not as cool as Luz thinks.)]
We've had pretty cool real adventures, too. We can take inspiration from those. I bet Azura and Hecate would have loved sneaking into a secret library.
they deserve some silly as a treat

I can so see it! Whether it's friendship or something more, it's obvious they have strong feelings for each other. A romance is what they deserve.
[And they, as fans, also deserve-]

It's kinda like this-

I should actually let you watch the movie, instead of just quoting it at you like that!
