okay, okay, she- she will try. UGH. Luz has no idea if they've talked about this given the gap in time between them.]
To be super honest with you, I was really afraid you'd think I was really... cheesy? You're so cool, classy and amazing!!! I wanted to make this big cool spectacle, instead of how I'd normally want to ask someone out, which was kind of like the vibe Hooty did. I've been made fun of for being like... corny.
[Luz is trying to not be horribly embarrassed and presses onwards.]
Yeah, yeah! We'll so think of something. Something they'd both click with.
Maybe we can look for Azura for help? There were some stellar romances for the background characters.
I didn't think it was cheesy, I thought it was sweet. But then you started destroying all those nice things written about me so I thought you didn't want it at all. 💀
There are some great scenes... oh, remember Sir Jonenn's confession to Isabel in the haunted gazebo, in book 3? That was so romantic!
It was a lot of overthinking on my part, when I really just wanted to tell you I like you a lot. A lot a lot. Maybe times infinity. Okay, definitely times infinity.
Oh my gosh. That would so fit their dark academia vibe perfectly. We need to find a haunted gazebo ASAP.
and some fish. Flying fish. Since that lead into the scene perfectly.
I think we were both afraid of 'what if she doesn't like me' at the time.
I could use spoons for a gazebo, but, I'm not sure what we'd do with a gazebo after? That spoon shrine has ghosts, I think? We can at least ask if they want to help!
The real question is if we can make them fly humanely. I wouldn't want to hurt the fish, even with love on the line.
We could change it if we wanted. It's all written text anyway, so what we imagine and what the author wrote could differ. Can you think of what you'd like to change?
Why not just make them actually fly? There are spells for that! (Well, levitate at least.)
Okay, that is true. This is just a basis for us to start from. Kind of like a template! I know that scene was so potent and beautiful I want to get that same energy. Eda and Raine deserve it!
...You're a genius. How are you the smartest person ever?
We're so gonna make the most romantic get back together plan for them! It'll be soooo cool.
Luckily for you, I'm here to further remind you that you're a super amazing genius. I'm happy to do that whenever I can! It's part of the girlfriend pact.
[That is a suspiciously long pause. Followed by the sound of a relic being dropped. She's ferret'd too close to the sun. The sun being her emotional threshold for overthinking.
Typing one sentence takes a bit longer than expected.]
Valentines day is an earth holiday about love!
im ferrtet hold onnnn
[There is an audible thump Amity might hear if they're both in the house at the same time. And Luz going, "Ow!"]
[Oh gosh. This does not sound like the type of conversation to have over text with a ferret. Amity carries her relic with her from one bedroom to the next over, knocking first before opening it a bit.]
Come on innnn, uh, I'm just- being a cool tube animal right now! [Not at all overthinking enough to fursplode.
Luz had been seated at her desk.
Now she was seated on the edge. A noodle gazing at the floor where her relic dropped out of her hands.] I know its not that high, but wow, perspective shift.
[Oh dear, poor short noodle girlfriend. Amity heads over, gently lifting Luz up as well as the fallen relic, sitting down in the chair. She rests Luz on her lap to give her a booster seat so she can reach the relic easier.]
[Luz gladly accepts her noodled fate. Her ears perking up a little as she tries to tip her head back to make eye contact. Her head bonks lightly against Amity in the process.]
Much better! Thank you!
[She looks to her relic, sending Amity a very strongly worded message.]
<3!
[With that taken care of, Luz ponders how to explain Valentines day.] Okay, so, Valentines day. It's one of the coolest holidays. It's about love, and showing people you love how much you care! Couples celebrate it the most for obvious reasons.
Think about how Hooty's tunnel of love looked, that's how Valentine's Day should look. All kinds of decorations, hearts, streamers, balloons. Usually it's not all at once, but, it's fun to make something for somebody you love! Big or small.
[Her eyes start going half lidded at the scratching.]
In February- so, next year here. [Who knows if they'll be back in the isle by then.] If we're still here, or even back on the isle, we'll celebrate together!

But yeah, maybe not that one for Eda and Raine.

It's too bad there's no one from the Construction Coven here. They could easily build one. And maybe find us a ghost.
There's such a big lake in Willow, though! We can find fish. And make them fly.

Maybe it would be okay to leave it there after? So anyone could use it.
What if we made paper fish and had them fly?

omg, amity, you're a genius. We could do origami fish! Put them on a string and wiggle them around!

I don't know about genius :) It's a normal thought process in the Boiling Isles to solve problems with magic! (But thank you ❤️❤️❤️)

[Obviously they haven't talked about it.]
As long as you know you're amazing, too!
